LiveFXTests.com was founded by myself  in an attempt to document my journey to finding ways to successfully trade the FOREX market with automated trading systems.  I am not a professional trader yet (November 2009), but expect to become one with time & patience. 

There are two trading paths I’m currently working on.  One is a manual trading system using the James16 method found on ForexFactory.com.  The other and probably the one I’m most passionate about is using MT4/MT5 to installs, tweak, design, & configure several Expert Advisors.  My plan is to first come up with a slew of successful Expert Advisors under certain market conditions and then manually turn them on/off based on what the market is doing.  This is phase 1 of my automated trading journey.

Phase 2 will be programming some sort of master “EA” that will analyze the current market conditions on certain timeframes and currency pairs, and then automatically turn on/off the correct EAs.

This site has been created to show how someone goes from knowing nothing about Expert Advisors and other automated trading system, to trading the FOREX with them successfully.  One way I’m going to do that is to test many MANY commercial and public EAs with REAL cash on forward tests.  Since we all know backtests are virtually worthless and demo accounts typically perform better than real cash ones, this should help me to determine which EAs have long term potential and which ones do not.

I will be using affiliate links to link to commercial EAs I test.  If you are going to buy the EAs based on my testing data, it would be great if you bought through my links.  This will help me fund many more tests and build custom tools/programs that will help all of us in our journey to automated trading success.

Please note – Success here is only determined by consistently profitable months and not by massive percentage gains.  We want automated trading systems that will yield 20% or more per year, but can do so without blowing up our accounts.  We are here to help people – not lose their personal savings accounts or worse yet – leave them with a giant credit card debt because they used that to fund their trading accounts.. (Do NOT do that latter by the way.)
