Fap Turbo Scalper Strategy Settings for the GBPUSD Pair

by Nathan on May 11, 2010

NOTE: We no longer trade FAPTurbo on our real cash accounts and we do not recommend it. Forex Crescendo is now our top robot that we are using on our large account. We terminated using FAPTurbo before we experienced any severe drawdown, but the trading became so volatile that most people did not trust it anymore. This post has been left as reference material only.

The next pair to discuss for Scalper Strategy settings with Fap Turbo is the GBPUSD (British Pound–USDollar).

Comparing the two columns in the chart below, the column on the left is the original v 50 default settings and the column on the right is a mix of ideas from the Fap Turbo Expert Guide, by Rob Casey, and our own experience coupled with web ideas.

Don’t forget that the Fap Turbo StartWorkTimeHour and EndWorkTimeHour inputs are GMT.

Fap Turbo converts GMT automatically to broker time by setting UseAutoGMToffset to True

The Scalper StartWorkTime begins in both columns at 20:30 GMT time or 4:30 pm EST, (NY time).

Both the Start and EndWorkTime have been extended 30 minutes from the defaults.

This serves to open trades only after both the NY equities regular session and Chicago’s futures session have fully ended for the day (the USD could react too hard to the final minutes of NY), and extends 30 minutes into the Asian session when neither US or British markets are open which makes the pair less reactive or volatile.

Reducing the TP to 8 to close out more trades with less opportunity to reverse without hitting those extra 2 pips means there was room to reduce the Scalper Stop Loss by 14 pips to 62 from default of 76 to cut losses if the trade ran away.

Also Scalper_Use CustomLevels should be false so that Fap Turbo Scalper exits a trade only at our inputs.

Here’s a useful link for converting forex pips into dollars since it varies pair to pair.

(Profit/Loss for 1 pip on 1 full lot of GBPUSD is $10.00.)
